Excerpt from the Lotus Notes and Domino Release 6.5.1 MR fix list (available at
http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/lotus/):
SPR# EPOD5PKRCP - This fix prevents the error message "stty: tcgetattr: A
specified file does not support the ioctl system call" from displaying on
shutdown, when running UNIX servers as background processes. This regression
was introduced in 6.0.2.
The error is benign and is caused by the startup script used for Domino 6.0.2
on a UNIX platform. This message does not occur on Domino servers prior to
release 6.0.2.
Within the startup script, the command "stty sane" is issued on script exit.
If a program is run from the background or if the input is redirected, the
benign message will be displayed. More >
